Veronica Keszthelyi-Scown is a Director of Photography originally from New York, now based in Yorkshire. She holds an MA with Distinction in Cinematography from the Northern Film School as well as a BFA Cum Laude from the Maryland Institute College of Art in Animation & Photography. Her work on her graduation film ‘The Witch Who Couldn’t Breathe’ was nominated for the ‘GTC Bill Vinten University Award’ for Best Cinematography.

Her most recent short film, the BFI funded ‘Tow Truck’ premiered at the prestigious Manchester Film Festival and was an Official Selection for 9 film festivals (of which 3 are BIFA qualifying) across the UK & Europe. Her previous short film ‘A Present for a Good Girl’ won Best Comedy and Best Micro-Budget winner of The People’s Film Festival in 2021 and was also the Global Winner in the Lift Off’s June Sessions 2020.

She holds a certificate for the BSC x NFTS Cinematography Masterclass, and had the honour of being mentored by Ed Moore BSC through the ‘BSC/ACO/Screenskills Mentor Programme’ and Gil Hubbs ASC through the ‘ASC Vision Mentorship Program’.

She has shot many shorts, music promos, documentary and commercial works, and loves helping to bring great scripts and Directors’ visions to life, no matter the genre.
